Community Health Assistant (CHA) is a health course which entails equipping students with relevant skills, knowledge and experience with an aim of ensuring competent health officer at community level.
The community health worker serves as a bridge between the community and the health care, government and social service systems. Our college is offering the Community Health Assistant course at both Certificate and Diploma levels with a mission of training professionals with advanced understanding of medical terminology, outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
CHA roles among others are to provide primary health care services i.e. immunization, health education and promotion, training of health volunteers, maternal and child health services at household level, community need assessment, disease prevention and control, Outreach services, family planning services, referral services and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) programs to the community to ensure access and availability of health care to all.
